An independent, free directory
About the directory

Built after watching a travel RN try to compare agencies — and give up.

The Travel RN Directory is an independent, free catalog of travel-nursing staffing agencies. Hundreds of agencies across the U.S. and internationally, profiled from public sources, agency career sites, The Joint Commission, NATHO, and nurse reviews.

Why this directory exists

This site exists because we watched a travel RN try to compare agencies for an ICU assignment — and give up. They had a browser full of tabs: one from a colleague's recommendation, one from a Reddit thread, one from a Google search that surfaced a lead-gen form behind a wall of pop-ups. After an hour, they still couldn't tell which agencies had Joint Commission certification, what contract lengths were typical, how pay packages were structured, or how to apply without surrendering their phone number to five recruiters at once.

That moment became the brief: build the thing that should have been there. Free for nurses. Always. Sourced from the same public registries agencies themselves report into. Compiled and maintained from public sources. No advertising trackers. No paywalls. No data brokers. An independent directory run on a lean operational footprint so it can remain useful for the long haul.

Travel nursing sustains the healthcare system's ability to flex — to staff a surge, cover a gap, bring expertise where it's suddenly needed. The nurses who do that work deserve a clean, honest place to evaluate agencies before committing to a contract.

No paywall stands between a travel RN and the information they need to choose the right agency. That is the promise. It will not break.

About us

Who made this.

Travel RN Directory was created by someone who simply wanted to help nurses find good travel-nursing agencies — the trustworthy, well-run ones — gathered in one central, honest place instead of scattered across recruiter ads, forum threads, and lead-gen forms. The goal is plain: make it easy for a nurse to see who staffs where, what the pay and housing look like, and how to apply directly, without surrendering their information to a dozen recruiters first.

It's built and maintained independently, not by any agency or staffing network. Nurses use it for free, always. If a listing is wrong or an agency is missing, anyone can flag it so we can correct it from public sources. That's the whole idea: a central, dependable starting point for the nurses who go where they're needed.

Related nursing resources

Travel nursing is one chapter in a long career. Many travel RNs are also weighing advanced education — our sister directory of doctorate nursing programs catalogs DNP and PhD options worldwide, and new graduates considering a structured first year can look at residency programs for new nurses. Each is an independent, free directory built on the same principle: sourced from official registries, no paywalls.

Editorial standards

Three standards we apply to every listing.

i.

Sourced from public registries

Every listing begins with an authoritative source — The Joint Commission's certified staffing agency directory, NATHO's member list, the agency's own public career site, or state health department registrations. Generic aggregator content is rejected. We cite our sources.

ii.

Cross-checked across sources

Each listing is corroborated against more than one public source — an accreditation registry, the agency's own career site, and state filings — so the details we publish agree across independent records. When sources conflict, we note it rather than guess.

iii.

Independent and free

The directory takes no payment from agencies for placement, ranking, or inclusion. Every agency is listed on the same terms, search rankings and write-ups are never for sale, and nurses use the directory for free, always.
